In his graduation performance at the Drama Centre, Xavier was directed by Dr. John Green in Hamlet as the title role. Since this time he has worked professionally in both theatre and film. In 2006, he played the role of Colin in Windmill Performing Arts production of Two Weeks with the Queen. He was directed by Murali K Thalluri In the film 2:37 and played the role of Theo.

His feature film debut is one of the central characters in the Australian feature film September, directed by Peter Carstairs featured in the Toronto International Film Festival. Xavier has recently finished filming Newcastle, another feature film, directed by Dan Castle which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2008.
Xavier is also the co-founder, with Tim Lucas, of The Green Bucket, a new independent company designed to produce original work through various media. Xavier’s television credits include a guest appearance on McLeod’s Daughters.
He grew up in Adelaide and graduated from Rostrevor College in 2001. Despite completing his studies at Rostrevor College he undertook final year drama at Christian Brothers College, where his father taught english, due to a timetable clash. This notwithstanding, he played the part of Tom Snout (the wall) in Rostrevor College’s production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream as well as playing the part of Belvile in CBC’s production of Aphra Behn’s The Rover (The Banished Cavaliers).
He attended Flinders University Drama Centre in 2005 where he played Hamlet in the graduate production. During his time at university he was the lead singer of Degrees of Freedom (which later became Adelaide band Hyatus). Xavier was recuited into the band by its bass player Kelstar who performed with him in the Banished Cavaliers. Xavier ultimately left Hyatus to pursue his film career.
In his early career, Xavier has worked professionally in both theatre and film.
